Some politicians are presented and interviewed on the news very often even if they are retired. Many others are never presented on TV, and they cannot get free publicity. Just because of their opinions. Some opinions and historical facts are never presented on Finnish TV.
Everything is planned in the media. The message of the TV news is often simple, but the truth is often much more complicated.
TV anchors, journalists and politicians may mislead the public if needed. Talking heads on TV are actually sometimes lying heads, however in the way that the public is not aware of it. In most cases TV news presenters do not necessarily know all the facts, but they pretend as if they knew everything.
History magazines do not present controversial or hushed issues. As far as I have read them I have never seen anything on some issues, which are awkward for the governments of Northern Europe.
Why the media - including history magazines, TV stations, all magazines and newspapers - have been totally silent on certain bloodsheds in Finland in 1918? (More on these bloodsheds on home page)
Who control the history of Finland? Who owns the history?

Foreign governments
Foreign governments have interfered in Finland's internal affairs, but the media has been silent on this. To be exact, some neighboring countries can interfere in Finland's internal affairs for decades without any news on it in the media. And some others can't. There is a one hundred per cent censorship on this in the media. Of course all political parties and governments of Finland have been silent on this.
Government control over the media has always been remarkable in Finland because of aggressive neighboring countries, Russia and Sweden. The close connection between politics and media is a hushed issue in the media.
In Finland the media hides facts and practically is lying all the time. Its aim is to hide politicians' decisions, if they are not convenient to the citizens of Finland.
